Day 1

We kicked off our Sonoma adventure by checking into MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa, a stunning 19th-century estate turned boutique hotel. The property blends historic charm with modern luxury, featuring lush gardens, stylish rooms, and an on-site spa. It felt like a peaceful retreat right in the heart of wine country, making it the perfect base for our getaway.

Once settled, we strolled through the quaint town of Sonoma, exploring its charming shops and soaking up the laid-back vibe. For lunch, we made our way to the girl and the fig, a beloved local spot known for its rustic French-inspired cuisine and farm-to-table approach. We indulged in dishes like their signature fig & arugula salad, paired with a crisp rosé, while enjoying the relaxed ambiance of their garden patio.

In the afternoon, we explored the tasting rooms around Sonoma Plaza, each offering a unique taste of the region's renowned wines. We sampled everything from bright Chardonnays to bold Zinfandels, all while learning about the area’s rich winemaking heritage. It was a great way to soak in the local flavor.

As the day came to a close, we enjoyed dinner at El Dorado Kitchen, a chic, contemporary restaurant with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. The sleek, modern design of the space, paired with its cozy ambiance, made for a perfect evening. We savored dishes like pan-seared scallops and house-made pasta, all while dining on their beautiful and peaceful outdoor patio.

Day 2

Our day started bright and early with a tour and tasting at the beautiful Jordan Winery. Nestled on a sprawling 1,200-acre estate, the winery features stunning landscapes and a chateau-style property that made us feel like we’d stepped into the French countryside.

The highlight of our visit was a tasting in their hidden wine room, a cozy, elegant space tucked away behind an unassuming door in the chateau. The room felt like a secret treasure, with its dim lighting, intimate atmosphere, and shelves lined with vintages spanning the years. Surrounded by the glow of candlelight and the rich scent of oak barrels, we sampled Jordan’s celebrated Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, each glass paired with perfectly curated bites. Our host shared stories about the winery’s history, the winemaking process, and what makes each vintage unique. It was a special, behind-the-scenes experience that felt like we were getting a true insider's view into one of Sonoma’s finest wineries.

Next, we headed to Chateau St. Jean for their Belle Terre Experience, an outdoor tasting that allowed us to savor their best wines in a stunning garden setting. We relaxed beneath the shade of ancient oak trees, sipping elegant reserve wines and taking in the serene vineyard vistas. We felt like we had been transported to the south of France.

Day 3

We kicked off the day with a morning hike through Jack London State Historic Park. The trails wound through redwood groves, rolling hills, and even past the ruins of Jack London’s old ranch, offering both natural beauty and a bit of literary history. It was the perfect way to start the day, taking in the crisp air and stunning views.

After working up an appetite, we made our way to Ferrari-Carano Vineyards & Winery for their Pizza & Vino on Il Terrazzo experience. The outdoor terrace had beautiful views of the vineyards, and we savored delicious wood-fired pizzas paired with their best wines. It was a laid-back, tasty lunch with a view that couldn’t be beaten.

In the afternoon, we headed back to MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa for some well-deserved relaxation. We indulged in a rejuvenating massage at their spa, letting the tensions melt away in the serene, peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect way to unwind after our active morning, leaving us refreshed and ready for the evening.

We finished off the day with dinner at Wit & Wisdom, a stylish spot known for its seasonal dishes and cozy vibe. The meal was a delicious blend of local flavors, the perfect end to a day filled with both adventure and relaxation.
